Clutch discs, which are part of the transmission system, play an important role in the car. The clutch disc consists of a splined hub and clutch friction components. The main task of the clutch disc is to transfer the drive directly from the crankshaft to the primary shaft of the transmission, thanks to the frictional resistance of the parts pressed together. Most discs are fitted with springs to dampen torsional vibrations. Placed between the sheet metal disc and the hub, they avoid resonant vibrations. Thanks to this, they additionally protect the entire transmission system from damage. The operating characteristics of this element require its replacement after a certain time of use due to its heavy wear. The lining gradually deteriorates, and at one point it may be too small to properly transmit the power intended to couple the disc, causing the so-called clutch slippage.
